Modder converts entire Fallout New Vegas map to Fallout 4's engine

Lonesome road.

A wasteland road leading to a rundown hotel. A sign points to the hotel with the town's name, Novac. At the forefront is a massive T-Rex roadside attraction. Dinky holds a sign which reads MOTEL.

A modder has created a tool which takes assets from Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas and makes them compatible with Fallout 4's Creation Engine.

Yes, I'm one of those Fallout: New Vegas fans who wishes we could get a shinier, updated version of the game. And I'm one step closer to that dream thanks to bololo11's FNV to FO4 mod.

The script can convert most models and plugins from both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, as well as the base game of New Vegas, from their native game engine of Gamebryo. bololo11 states the mod can't convert NPCs and creatures, quests or scripts "yet", and converted weapons and armour can't be equipped, but it's a great start.

I'm in awe at how beautiful the Mojave Wasteland looks in Fallout 4. Screenshots of the mod in action show some of the game's most memorable locations, including Helios One and its massive array of solar panels, and The Fort.

The mod requires you to both own and install Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4, and it can take a couple of hours to convert everything. But seeing how fantastic Dinky looks, I think that wait is worth it.

This is a separate project to Fallout 4: New Vegas, which aims to recreate the entirety of New Vegas in Fallout 4's Creation Engine. Development on F4NV is continuing nicely, with the group recently sharing new artwork of money for the mod.
